Saffron Bread

By Mother Kutila

4 c. flour

1 c. butter 1/2 c. sugar

2 c. tutti fruittis 1/2 c. currants 4 tsp. baking powder 2 tsp. saffron (put saffron in oven for a few minutes, cool and powder. Add a little water to the powder to make a tea.)

Mix all ingredients, then add enough buttermilk to make thick batter. The batter should be thick enough to spoon out into cake pan. Cook until moist. Sticking a knife into it, the knife should come out wet, no batter on it, but wet, moist. Cook at 350 degrees ’til done. Offer with love and devotion to your favorite ISKCON guru, Srila Prabhupada, and Krsna.
