New Vrindaban Ratha Yatra Bike Race
A bike race has been organized by some Krishna youths for the Ratha Yatra.
The assembly point will be at Rupanuga’s and Nityo’s, the same place the Ratha Yatra will be starting. Riders should be at the assembly point by 10 AM for a 10:30 start.
The race will be from the starting point along the State road to Sankirtan’s house then go through the old Festival overflow parking lot to Varsana Swami’s, down the dirt road towards the Garden of Seven Gates, pass by the peacock cage, then behind the temple and out to the State Road up past the Palace and ending at the assembly point.
It should be finished by the 10:50 AM coconut breaking to start the Ratha cart’s journey to the temple.
Open to everybody.
Rathayatra Ki Jaya!
Dear Devotees, Friends and Contributors to the Radharani Club,
Hare Krishna! This coming Saturday is New Vrindaban’s annual Rathayatra Celebration. It is Lord Jagannath, Lady Subadra, and Lord Balaram’s way of showering Their Divine Mercy on both the residents and visitors of the Holy Dhama of New Vrindaban. This year’s celebration has been planned out by Her Grace Malati devi, and as she is a “Rathayatra Groupie” travelling around every summer to get “The Mercy” – I’m sure this years’ celebration will be nothing short of spectacular.
And this also marks the 5th Anniversary of the “RADHARANI CLUB”, as the first outfit that we had made was for the Rathayatra celebration in 2003. We put the beautiful festive outfit on Lord Jagannath, Lady Subadra and Lord Balaram, and then packed the outfit away, and dressed all the Deities with the outfits on RADHASTAMI that year. So this year, I used the laksmi left over in the Club from 2007, and collected the balance this year, and had this years’ Rathayatra outfits made in India.
I would like to give special thanks to Radhasundari prabhu, for all her help in communicating with the tailor in Vrindaban, and helping in choosing such a beautiful offering to Their Lordships, and to Malati prabhu for putting all her energy in planning out this year’s Rathayatra, and also to the following donors for their generous contributions, this year. Besides using the laksmi for the outfits, the leftover laksmi was used to sponsor and buy all the flowers for this years’ celebration on Saturday.
Thanks to the following donors:
Manonatha das (Michael Hoare)
Dulal Chandra prabhu
Mother Gopa and Damodara prabhu
Mother Krishna Bhava and Kripamaya prabhu
Nityananda dasi
Caitanya das
Mother Malati
Nityo Dita prabhu and Radha
Sachimata dd
and one miscellaneous donor
HARE KRISHNA! And have a great Rathayatra celebration. All glories to
Their Lordships, Jagannath, Subadra and Baladeva.
P.S. I’m not positive if the Deities will be moved to the former Sita-Ram altar in time for Rathayatra, but I would like to give a special thanks to Rukmavati devi dasi for all her hard work on making a new backdrop for the Deities. Hare Krishna

Additions To Our Upcoming Weekly Schedule & Rathyatra Up-date
Dear Devotees:
HH Holiness Danavir Goswami arrives from Kansas City, MO Wed afternoon. We expect that he will offer SB class Thursday morning and certainly Saturday, specifically discussing the glories of Rathyatra. Please make him feel welcomed back to New Vrindaban.
Possibly Friday morning during SB class, there will be an excellent slide show presentation depicting the preparation and execution of the Rathyatra Festival in Jagannath Puri. Coming by the grace of Sri Nandanandana Prabhu, noted devotee author of 14 books, it will bring you glimpses of the Lord and His brother and sister that are rarely seen by anyone, especially those from the west. It will show the various stages of building and decorating the magnificent Rath Carts themselves. There is an accompaniment of rare kirtans by an early devotee, Dinanath Prabhu, who was very dear to Srila Prabhupada.
The cart is expected to arrive Thursday afternoon. As previously mentioned, Akhilananda prabhu will need some strong shoulders and arms to help get it ready to roll. FYI, dimensions of the cart are 28 feet tall when the canopy is fully extended, 11 1/2 feet wide and 18 feet long when decorative balcony’s are added, otherwise, it is 12′ by 8 ‘.
Volunteers needed for the following areas:
The “Golden Broom” has been purchased, but we need a volunteer to gold spray it before Saturday.
We are looking for two strong poles/ sticks 4 to 5 feet in length and 1 1/2 to 2 ” in width to be used during the parade to protect the pullers and others from bumping into the wheels.
We need two persons for the service of Wheel Captains during the Yatra (parade).
Volunteers for Saturday morning cart decoration seva.
Someone to refresh the crowd by spraying rose water mist from a back pack water sprayer.
Strong devotees to assist placing the Lord upon the cart. You must wear clean devotional attire.
Offerings that can be offered at various stops along the Parade route.
We need someone to fill the torches that will be used during the Harinam Procession to the lake in the evening for the Special Rathyatra Jagannath Swanboat Serenade and darshan with fireworks.
Call (304) 845-9591 for further information or to volunteer your services.
Lastly for this up-date, I wish to thank Garga Rsi Prabhu for pledging a donation towards NV Rathyatra. May he eternally dance for the pleasure of Sri Jagannath dev.

Prabhupada Letter October 21, 1969

October 21, 1969
My Dear Hayagriva,
Please accept my blessings. I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated October 13, 1969 and have noted the contents carefully. The most enlightening paragraph of your letter is when you say to print 50,000 copies of our BTG. My idea is that we should print at least 100,000 of this magazine every month; if not immediately, then in the very near future. And it will be quite possible to do it easily because we have got our own press.
I am so glad to learn that you are deeply absorbed in editorial work and your good wife is assisting you. I have reÂceived one letter from Shama Dasi how much she is pleased to asÂsist you in this great task. I am also glad to learn that you have received the manuscript sent by Purushottam from Hamburg. Please finish up the business very nicely and the balance manuÂscript will be sent as soon as you want it. The date mark on the magazine I think is already removed from the face of the cover, as I see it in the #28 issue.
Your desire that you could be always with me is exactly befitÂting, because I need your service in that way and I wanted to keep you with me always. But somehow or other Krishna desired in a different way for better purposes. Now, by Krishna’s Grace, you have got a nice wife, you have got a nice home, and you have got a nice engagement, along with a nice desire to serve Krishna. So all these combined together means your future is very great. You try to utilize the situation properly and I wish to help you to my best capacity.
If you could get some service in some of the Universities in Boston, that would be a great facility. Then both of you, yourÂself and your wife, could live in Boston and do the editorial work more conveniently in cooperation with Satsvarupa and others. I think in that way.
So far as New Vrindaban is concerned, I am very glad to know that Kirtanananda is touring and trying to maintain and develop the affairs of New Vrindaban by his own endeavor. It is very, very encouraging to me that in his last letter he expresses his desire to sell our books and magazines. I replied his letter that he can take with him as many books and magazines as he likes and sell them and utilize the profit also, but I have not received any reply from him since a long time.
I am so glad to learn also that your working in the Universities is not so burdensome so that you can utilize your time more for editorial work. Please note it carefully the publication of my books is so dear to me, and I wish that you help me to the highest perfection of this work. You wanted my desire to order you something you shall carry out. I wish that you may take up this responsibility and do it very nicely in all circumstances.
I hope this will meet you in good health.
Your ever well-wisher,
A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami

Sri Nathji’s 25th Birthday
About Nathji’s installation ceremony:
““Radha-Vrindaban Chandra, Gaura-Nitai, and Gopala Nathji were placed on Their altars, which had been drilled with nine small holes. In the holes were placed nine precious jewels of the nine major planets. They were then filled with turmeric. A yantra—a small piece of gold plated copper, inscribed with a six-pointed star, an eight-pointed lotus flower, and the mula and gayatri “mantras of each Deity, was placed under the Deities. . .”

The back story of how Nathji came to New Vrindaban:
“In 1979, many Gujarati Vaisnavas and life members were desiring to worship Sri Nathaji in New York’s ISKCON center. A devotee sculpted Sri Nathajl’s murti, and it was exhibited in the New York temple. Every Sunday evening, Veda Vyasapriya, who now lives in New Vrindaban*, arranged for the life members to perform puja ceremonies for Sri Nathaji…”
