GAS PRICES SOAR

As gas prices have skyrocketed we thought that possibly residents might be interested in ride shares to town to share the cost of gas. We are posting a list via email and in the temple prasadam room that will assist interested parties to connect. Along with this email is an attached sheet. Anyone who wants to participate, please send your information to aheartconnection@gmail.com and we will circulate the new information (via Jaya Murari’s email list) on a regular basis.

Along with the idea of Ride Shares, we thought that you devotees might also like to be aware of all the different services available (by other devotees). Anyone who is interested in posting their services (with approximate pricing) and/or posting if you are willing to trade or barter services to save on money flow, please contact me and I will update a list on a regular basis that will be circulated via Jaya Murari. Sudevi dasi, a disciple of Srila Prabhupada, has moved to New Vrindaban as of Tuesday, June 10th and is living on the second floor of the temple in the Women’s Ashram. She met the devotees briefly in 1968 and in 1970 moved into the Buffalo NY temple and was initiated in 1971. She has been at the Dallas, Texas temple for the last few years. As she is over 55 she is tired of cities and has chosen to move here to live in the country village of New Vrindaban. She already has 44 hours of service per week. Welcome Sudevi, welcome.

The core 24 hour kirtan devotees are striving to provide a quality chanting nam-yajna experience.

In keeping with their mood and desire, the following changes in schedule will occur on Saturday only:

SB Class by H H Jayapataka Swami @ 7:00 am under Lodge.
Greeting of Deities in the temple @ 8:00 am followed by
Guru-puja & kirtan @ 8:15 am followed by
Official Beginning of 24-Hour Kirtan Yajna @ 8:30 am
Breakfast in designated areas @ 9:00 am for those who wish.

Our wonderful corps of second generation adults are already converging on New Vrindaban dham.

Please note that Srimad Bhagavatam Class will be given under the lodge this coming Saturday. The speaker will be Jayapataka Swami. The reason for change of venue is that the Sound Engineer needs to set up for the 24 hour kirtan yajna in the temple during the same time as SB class.

On a Tuesday I was surprised to see two young local boys (25 years old) visiting the temple morning program. Upon inquiry one boy expressed that he used to come out here often when he was younger and hang out with some of the devotee kids his age. He commented that he liked to bring his friends out here because this place was “out of this world”. He said, “There is nothing like this place anywhere out there.”

His friend who was coming for the first time was quite impressed with the atmosphere in the temple and said he felt so tranquil and peaceful.

While engaging in a conversation it occurred to me that the first boy sounded pretty frustrated with the world. He said no one cared. He was a little upset and got up to walk outside. His friend stayed in the temple and mentioned to me that I shouldn’t mind that he walked out, but that his wife had left him that night and took their baby daughter with her. He was so upset his friend thought he might kill himself.

And yet, somehow in his desperation, he wanted to come to this place that was familiar to him and that was “out of this world”. We spent some time together and he received maha and a picture and his mood seemed to change.

We can understand that compassion and mercy will come to all those souls that seek shelter in Krsna.
