New Vrindaban
One of Srila Prabhupada’s most cherished desires was to establish New Vrindaban in America. He spoke at great length about building a replica of Vrindavan, India. In 1968, The New Vrindaban community was founded to fulfill Prabhupada’s dream of an ideal society based on Krishna Consciousness, or love of God. The New Vrindaban Dham is set in the beautiful and peaceful Appalachian Mountains in the rural West Virginia Panhandle. This spiritual community has been a place of pilgrimage for many thousands of visitors each year.
Sri Sri Radha Vrindaban Chandra’s Mandir is a main attraction and is often the first stop for visitors and pilgrims.
In addition to award winning flower gardens, other attractions include organic vegetable gardens, a cow sanctuary, gift shop, vegetarian restaurant, lotus pond, and, of course, Srila Prabhupada’s Palace of Gold.
